    Picked up a 1987 Accord LX-i Hatch for $600!

    Hey 3geez!

This account is a two-person deal, and we're both super stoked on the new project car.

We split the car and are gonna split all build expenses. (Don't worry, we've been best friends since grade 7 and we're 21 now, and don't foresee any problems down the line)

Our loose plans for it are as follows:

    1. Strip interior (take out seats, remove carpet, removed ceiling fabric) [x]
    1a. Replace the aforementioned [ ]
    2. Sand down and repaint weather stripping [ ]
    3. Sand down exterior and prep for paint (even though we may wrap it first, because moniez) [ ]
    4. Replace broken side markers / replace blown OEM headlight bulbs. [ ]
    5. Replace rear bumper (has a hole in it) [ ]
    6. Tint sun-cracked tail lights. [ ]
    7. Trying to decide whether to rebuild the A20 or swap in a B-series. (TBD) [ ]
    8. Power-steering and A/C Delete (the latter is up in the air atm) [ ]
    9. Aftermarket front seats. [ ]
    10. Install coilovers (most likely custom spring/strut combo) [ ]
    11. Slam the damn thing. [ ]
    12. Throw on some old school Enkeis [ ]
    13. Go to show. [ ]
    14. Break necks. [ ]
    15. ??? [ ]
    16. Profit [ ]

Matt - (Honda Line C Tech) I love cars but have limited experience, I'm here to learn anything that I can possibly fathom. This is my first project build and I'm ready for headaches and happy tears.

Tyler - (Average everyday normal guy) I also love cars and have always wanted a project car. Have even less experience than Matt but also ready to soak in as much knowledge as I can. Also my first project and ready to take it on.

A number of small victories have been had over the past couple of weeks!

First, we took out the old headliner and replaced it with some black suede-ish fabric from the fabric store. A couple wrinkles, but all-in-all, it looks great!
(and btw, was it just Hondas or did everyone have cardboard and foam headliner bases in the 80s? Cause that was heh, strange.)

We stripped the interior of all the seats and trim (minus, the dash) and painted anything that was tan, black. Came out nice!

We tinted the taillights that were cracked to all get-out. They look ALOT better. The red filled in and otherwise distracts form all the pre-existing cracks.

And it just so happened that my friend had his "daisy wheels" from his 92 Miata sitting in his garage, and I've always thought they looked kinda of like the old Enkei Compes, so you know we jumped on it.

But we're moving right along! Both of us working full-time and being in summer classes puts a restriction on time, BUT we'll keep doing what we can. This week/weekend, the plan is to do a compression test to see what direction we're gonna go engine wise, and to buy new side markers and replace all the bulbs on the vehicle.
