    dash advice, please

i want to cover over the depression in the dash... i know i would have to take the cover off of the dash and fill it in with like fiberglass or more plastic, but how do you think it would look... and what would a good dash covering be? vinyl would be hard to get to stretch, but i thik if i took out the sharp curves at the dash ends, it MIGHT work... but what other options are out there? my interior is gonna be dark green, purple, black, blue, or red... any matching combo of the bunch, but probably the green/purple combo
    any help is appreciated

i think vinyl would look good but over time the glue holding it down would come loose and it would start to bubble, what about buying a new dash and painting it?

where is paulie??? i haven't seen him here yet... i know he's a busy man, but i would like to be able to talk to him via an instant messenger one time and ask about that

now... the dash doesn't have to by viyl... it can be anything else, really, but i think vinyl looks the best

paint is out of the question... NO PAINT

BTW: i will be using the material for door trim and to finish out the console and other trim parts, like the B pillar covers

you could always go with some tweed, but it's expensive. I also don't know what colors it's available in other than grey. My friend did the interior in his truck and it looked really good.

i'm not too fond of tweed, either... i bet if you used contact cement with the vinyl, it would stay... but the problem i have is getting it where i want it

i think i'm gonna use some plastic i have and some epoxy and bondo to attach it and smooth it over

i'm getting quite good at forming plastic, so i might just do that

hey Derick, I was actually just searching around for a thread I saw a while back about tweed, and a link to a good site and I came across this thread...

    How's this....?

I cannot take credit for the idea, but I'll be happy to take credit for actually making this.
