    Take of air filter

    When i put on the air filter i have to give the car more cas to start the car. Some time i take my foot off the gas and it will shut off. when i take of the air filter it work fine. What is the problem? and do i Get more power if i take of the air filter? final what and how serious the effect of the air filter remove.

    buy a K&N filter. your filter is probably clogged. If you have a carb then spray some cleaner in the carb

    dont leave your carb without a filter. You'll ruin your engine that way. Get a K&N for gods sake man.

    Leave the filter on.

    Does the problem only happen when you start the car?
    - I'm leaning towards a choke problem at the moment.

    I agree with A20A1. Now that I think of it, that's why I got my Weber. The choke was not working and I needed to keep on the gas to make it run. (not fun in winter) I might think about getting an electric start put in mine. This shop said they could put it in a manual.

    when the choke is off and the weather is cold... the cars runs horrible... after it gets warm... its ok

    yes, mine you actually have to leave your foot floored to the gas petal to start so itll start, if you take it off it turns off, when it finally warms up........YAYYYYYYYY!! lol
