    The Car seem like it do not waht to turn off

    I have a 1986 honda carb accord. when my car runs for i long time it do not want to turn off. i turn the key off, but it shakes and act like it still want to move. the engine is still sping but not as if it was on. i just stall it out to stop it. what is the problem.

    No I am not at 2000 not even 1000 under 1000

    that's called diesieling ! and it happens when your idle is high or the carb is flooded !

    You might also want to check you ignition timing... and the check for vacuum leaks to the idle diaphragm on the left side of the carb.

    check your spark plugs too see if you're running rich ore lean.
    Black tip normally indicates a richer mixture.
    White or light brown tip is a leaner mixture.

    Buy a Weber and most of your problems will be solved. My stock carb wanted to run after I shut it off and it started up but I had to keep on the gas to make it run and I got sick of it and bought a Weber 32/36 downdraft carb. Best mod you could do to a carbed engine.

    Maybe your fuel ratio is set rich or idle is set too high. Your car could also be out of time set too advanced. Just try setting your idle lower at first and tell us what happens
