What should I do about the transmission?

I want to start putting engine mods on my 86 accord but my transmission is the first thing that needs to be handled...do i upgrade to different trans. or is the one i have in there ok? help me out...

If you have a manual transmission you can swap in a 86-87 prelude si tranny. It has slightly better gearing. If your mechanicly inclined you can swap the internals from a 86-89 teg tranny into your accord tranny case. It has even better gearing.

If your running an auto tranny you miht be out of luck.

if youre asking about it handling power that you will throw at it. they are pretty tough transmissions, until you go justin style with a fatty turbo system and $$$$$$$ into the car.. but for most of your mods the tranny will hold up no sweat!

the integra gearing is a lot higher than what we found in ludes so swapping out the internals (i dont know how or where u do it) would be a better idea but always keep your 5th gear in for highway cruizin.
