talk about spur of the moment purchase....

So I was over a friends house for their son's birthday, and their little bro says to me after he se's my hatch.. "you know anyone who wants 95 'teg wheels w/ pirelli's?" I'm like, maybe, how much? He goes 200. I'm like DONE! I reached down into the pocket, handed him 200, then we went to his house to pick them up. Anyway, here's what I scored....

What do ya' think? Good deal? PS, there's only one wheel with a little curb rash (the one pictured), all others are perfect. And about 50-65% tread left on the Pirelli P700-Z 205/50/15's.

Jim, thanks for that weight-in! I knew when I picked them up that they were light, but damn 16lbs? that's wicked light! Hell yeah! Anyway, as shown, they've already got Pirelli P700-Z's mounted. Have you, or anyone had any experience with this tire? Are the thoughts good or bad?

What does this set of wheels normally go for? How great of a deal did I score? PS... If I were to remove those tires to put on my autocrossers, would anyone be interested in buying them off me?

Wellllllll, 16lbs is close to oem, so at least your not going heavier than stock. Light weight would be around 12lbs or less. The average price I see 94-95 teg rims and tires selling for is around $300-$340, so you got a awesome price, a steal! The P700Z isn't in the same leage as 712's, S-03's, or anenis sports. But they should be a nice high performance tire. Check out tirerack and see if anyone has filled out a owner survey on the tire.

The SEi Rims are dirt cheap @ around $40 each if you get them at a good junkyard. I'll have to weigh them sometime for a comparison.

i don't have $160 to fork out on rims right now though..., first i gotta get my manual conversion, then get me a cam regrind, then prolly some headers. but if i could get them free, it's worth a shot lol
