87 accord lx has its issues

My accord has recently had this issue where it will start right up in the morning for a second then die almost after idle drops down, i turn it back on and it holds perfect and runs fine no issues. I also have an issue when i get around to half a tank and i hit the gas from a stop and the car hesitates almost like its missing big time but then kicks up and goes, no smoke or anything like that. when i go to stop idle sits at a perfect 700-750 range. I live in reno nevada so idk where i would go to get my carb worked on either. picked one up at pick and pull recently that looked brand new but after seeing how many vacuum lines go to this thing i decided it wasnt a good idea as its my daily driver and its more than a 1 day swap if i wanna do it right. id like to swap it over to a fuel injected motor but idk where i would even start on that

A check of fuel pressure would be a good idea. As for the carb, download the manual (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vtyhl48z5...udl0xk_Oa?dl=0) and start checking all the electric and vacuum controls. You're only going to swap out one set of problems for another with a junkyard carb. Better to test and fix things properly.
