    Michigan noobie

Hello, my name is Kenny, my wife and I just saved an 89 Accord sedan from what we feared a terrible demise, (this will be our second Honda rescue!) I happened upon it whilst making a wrong turn on a delivery to a local repair shop, when I called about setting up an appointment to test drive and give her a look, the owner had told me a prior inquirior had made an offer, dredd had set in, because commonly here old "junker" Hondas are seen as a good source for "bump and run" races. Knowing this we told the owner we had cash in hand and if the other offer fell through, we wanted it, luck was on our side, as the other offer fell through! So tomorrow we are picking up our first 3rd gen Accord!

Wish us luck on our restoration!

    Re: Michigan noobie

Ok got some photos, that last one was mostly focused on the hood prop, because i had to bend a piece of rolled steel into a prop, the previous owner felt a 2x4 was sufficient... Also, I'd like to not shes had a proper tune up, new NGK plugs and wires, Hitachi cap and button and K&N air filter, just need to fine tune the carb to compensate the new air flow. Next on the list is new Tie Rods, drive belt and power steering belt, vacuum hoses, valve cover gasket, and oil change.
Shes getting Plasti diped white before winter, and the underside is getting a good coating of paint as well, just to keep the body from rusting.

Hey, you have to give us old farts time to get the wheelchair over to the computer. LOL. Welcome to the forum and good work on the prop rod.

Thanks, she may look a bit rough, but its mostly salt water battered paint, the amount of rust is very minimal.
