    advancing the timing how?

alright, so i was talking to slammed89accord on aim and he said he had his timing advanced, and i asked how much it was, and he said u do it ur self, u turn the distributor towards the windshield and then tighten the bolts back down and thats it... is that true? he said it helps a lot... is that all u have to do? how come no one has told me this before, i mean i ask thousands of questions and i still dont know about this topic haha... thx everyone...

ya i did that today on my lude...what you do is losen the bolt holding the distributor and then you pull it slightly to the winsheild....not too much, or else you might f" somethin up...i COULD be wrong but im pretty sure you dont wanna go more than 1/4 of an inch

i used a timing light on mine, so i knew exactly when to stop so my timing is right on

you may need to ryn higher grade fuel if the car pings ( ticks ) while accelerating !

i have to agree with Mike. Advancing your timming is helping, but you will have to use high grade fuel. if you don't, oyu will nottice detonation or some engine noices.

    not really,
you won't see much of power. i had it advanced for a while, but than i turned it back.
the reason you advance is that you will move the spark point higher on RPM band. that means the spark plug will ignite hotter at higher RPM than lower.
because our carbed engines luck power at low end, i wouldn't do it.
