Yeah the off set is important. I have 17x7.5 with 205/40's and i have never rubbed and trust me i have a lot of weight in the trunk with my 3 amps 2 subs box and all the material for the amp rack. And the car is lowered too. My 16s rubbed a lot in the rear and it wasnt lowered but i dont know what the offset was but it wasnt enough but they were 7.5 wide instead of the normal 7 wide and wider tires than i have now. So just watch the offset and you will be allset.

About the offset I'm fairly sure it's positive. The 7 or 7.5 after the rim diameter (as Rob listed above) represents the wheel width in inches.

I think someone said you need a 40mm offset or larger. Mine is a 42mm so its fine. Some places wont list the offset but its critical on certain rims if you dont want them to rub.

Just pick up 4, it's much less expensive that way. As for the spare, it's really ur choice. I have a full sized spare (13"), but yeah a donut will work just as well as long as you get the blown tire replaced on the good rim. ...actually, now that I think about it, I think i should pick up a LX-i donut b/c of the front brake upgd...

....things that make you go ... hmmmm.....

I have 5 thanks to Sears for scratching one rim. Im goona use if for a spare if i can make room in my trunk. Just one word of advise either buy a package already mounted or take it some where that only works with aftermarket wheels. It took them 2 months to straightem it out and they cross threaded one of my locking lugs and had to take it back. It was a nightmare and i would have paid additional money for a package with my tires to avoid this. They wernt gonna replace it either but i flipped out and went up the chain the the district manager which was only gonna pay for a center cap. Just watch out cause people will put it on you.

about a week or two ago i was cleaning out my girlfriend's trunk and it occurred to me that i have four full size wheels and tires i'm not using so i may as well use one as a spare and give her one too. but yeah, definitly only get 4. if you do get 5 though than you should include the matching tire in your rotation when you rotate the tires.

no problem MIke. considering the charecteristics of the 13" stock rim here is what you have :185/70 R13

    sidewall: 5.1"
    radius: 11.6"
    diameter: 23.2"
    circumference: 72.9"
    revs/mi : 869.0

if your gonna get a 15" rim, here is what u gonna have :205/55 R15

    sidewall: 4.4"
    Rad: 11.9"
    Dia : 23.9 "
    circum: 75.0"
    revs/mi : 845.0

with this tire you will be travelling at 61.8 mph when the speedo reads 60 mph.

Note: with a 205/50 R15 tire you will be travelling 59.7mph when the speedo reads 60mph. I dont think you might want this.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    WIth a 16 inch rim, you get 205/45 R16

    sidewall: 3.6"
    Dia: 23.3
    Revs/mi: 867

Speedo reads 60mph, ur going at 60.2 mph. Pretty close huh?
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For a 17" rim, you are running 205/40 R17 tires

    Side wall: 3.2"
    Dia: 23.5"
    Revs/mi : 860

Speedo reads 60 mph, you're doing 60.7mph. Pretty close too.

SO, given all these, choose whichever you want. As you know, going with 195 instead of 205 will make a difference in ur side wall height, but 205 is much better if you ask me.

Actually smuf, the correct plus size for a 15" wheel is the 205/50 instead of the 205/55.

    ...you kinda just proved it.

you said that with 205/55 the speedo will read 60 but actual is 61.8. That's a diff. of 1.8mph whereas with a 205/50 the actual is 59.7; a diff. of only .3 mph. Now in all reality this is just a general sizing. All diff. tire manufacturers will be a little different, but we're talking only a matter of mm's in total diameter.

Mark, i would rather go with the 205/55 than a 205/50 cause here in nj, they wont chase u if ur drive crazy. so i wont mind having 205/55 and that is if it does not hurt the car.
