    ...thanks Paulie....

I have to thank Paulie (one of the original members) and originator of the "3rd Gen Accord Era" for this idea. I talked to him and managed to get some suggestions in this design. This is just a first attempt, and there will be more to come....

Let me know what you guys think.. ..i know I've been quiet about this for a long time, but I think it was well worth the wait. I'm actually starting some R&D for another one of these with a bit of a twist. I'll post the finished product as soon as it's... well... ...finished.

nah Yasu I haven't talked to him since his last appearance here a few months back. I wonder the same thing too about how he's been lately. ...I guess we'll just have to wait for another of his suprise appearances. Either that, or someone should e-mail him and see if he responds.

nope, it's not permanent. I made it so that it can be removed easily and you'de never be able to tell that I had it on there. As for the clock, mine's busted, so it doesn't bother me not to see it.

It's made of basswood and covered in upholstery grade duck cloth. You can't really see it in the pic, but I marble-ized the material before I stretched and glued it to the backing.

I think I'll finish up version 2 soon enough and for v.3, I think I'll try another material other then wood (maybe starboard) to avoid any warping that may occur over time.

Gotta be the best interior mod I've ever seen. I think it looks as if honda did it at the factory. That is the highest compliment I can extend in my little world. Looks very nice mark.:super:

thanks Steve, yeah came a long way from when I showed it to you that day huh? Yeah the upcoming version 2 will either be the one that I'll try to mount guages into, or I'll wait and do that for v.3 and break out the mad-mods for the completed v.2.

Thanks Jim, and thanks everyone else who's complimented. It's all greatly apreciated. If anyone has any other suggestions, or things they'de like to see it become, just post it here and I'll bring them out in the next versions. PS... I can make it say anything. This one was actually supposed to say 3GEEZ just like the logo, but it was too much of a pain in the ass, and my patience was wearing very thin, hence just the "3G".

Sure, that's not a problem at all. I'm not into keeping secrets, I mean afterall this is not my idea, Paulie (hence the title of the thread) was the first to make this insert. I just like it soo damn much that I needed to make one too.

Anyway, yeah this would be a great place for guages too. It's mounted very simply. All I did was use another small strip of wood, mounted it to the bottom of the insert and cut it to fit so that it would subsequently allow for that insert to lie flush with the dash surface.

Ok, OK, I guess I'll make v.2 for the guages and reserve v.3 for the other idea.

I'll post it as soon as it's completed.
