personally, i like infinities... inexpensive, and high quality... i've never seen the alpines, but i've heard them from a distance (like 10 yards... so it don't count, really), but even where i was standing they were clear for bein in a car... one thing about the infinities (well, the reference i have, i won't speak for others because i've never heard or seen them) is the hold up very well... i had like 100 watts RMS goin to just one 6.5 and it held up, and played very smoothly... you can get the components at www.justcarspeakers.com for like $140, and you can get kappa 3 ways (6x9) for about the same price... top that off with an alpine, kenwood, panasonic, jvc, or higher end pioneer, and you have a killer system to build off of

you can fit 6x9 on the back if you have stock adapter plate. otherwise it will be custom work.
i have alpine speakers, actually i have everything alpine. i like the brand name. don't buy it at your local dealer. they will charge you arm and a leg.
i got all my stuff of ebay.
i have sps-1763S speakers or something like that. they are not type R. i have type S theme in a car.
but even this speakers hit nice. i am running them of 4x50 rms watt alpine amp.
you can get nice stuff for $425 on ebay.
you don't have to stick with alpine. I heard infinity and i like them too. you just have to go to your local audio store and listen to some nice speakers.

yeah i know some guy whos really good friends with the son of the owner of Stereo king, so i can get some hella nice stuff for $400 he says cuz he'll hook me up, but yeah i wont limit to alpines its just taht i've heard some guy who has alpines and it bumps really nice, just like i want it.

but i will definately look at other speakers like infinity's, there 6 x 9 3 way loudspeaker looks promising kind of, i know they hook up there speakers to an amp so, maybe i'll just get one for my speakers too i dont know.

hmm i went to car toys and magnolia hi fi and there were some alpines for $80 for a pair, they sounded ok, but i dont think there was enough bass, i wonder why, i want speakers with a little more bass or will it sound better in a car cuz the room was bigger?

For a deck, id go with Pioneer or Alpine. Ive had them both, and ive also had Sony, JVC and Kenwood. The sonys sucked (had 3, none worked without some kind of problem, sounded good tho) the JVC was decent (had 2, both got stolen) but didnt sound as good as the alpine or Pioneer. Alpine sounded the best, I like the Pioneers value and bullet-proof reliability as well.

make sure you get an expensive deck... with out that, ur kinda screwed no matter what speakers you get. its like having a 4 cylender in a Mc Laren. every thing else looks good and feels good, but there isnt a good amount of power...or sound quality.

all i must say my friends is that the god of all head units....the Pro Audio DXZ825 cackles at all your futile attempts at finding a better cd player.......muwhahahahahhaha, ahem no but for real it's really off the hook, plays everything cd's mp3's cdr/ws, u can hook up mp3 to it, it has an lcd display, u can even change the color to match your gauges, i think it does like 54 watts or whatever u measure it in times 4, i forget, i just know the equalizer makes everything sound freakin ridiculous, u shall hear me blasting Hernan Catteneo - Satellites down your blox hehe, retail $300 (gotta get that hook up!)

Well my alpine CDA-7893 is 60x4 watts. I would definitly say that it is the clearest shit you have heard. Everyone always asks how I get my stero to sound so crystal clean... I always tell them... its the combination of my deck and my tweeters. Without either one it wouldnt sound as good. So if I were you I would go out and buy a $200 alpine deck, a set of infinity componets for the front, and a set of 6 1/2 inch Infinity 3 ways for the rear. You should be able to get all of that for around $200 for a total of $400 (speakers/deck). Then if you get enough money buy a 12inch sub in box w/ 200w+ amp. You should build up and get it slowly so you can buy better products instead of rushing everything and getting crap. Be patient.

INFINITY KAPPAS!!! :super: i love these speakers, they rule. my car is gonna be pure infinity kappas, eventually.... i actually have a pair of 6.5" 2-way Infinity Kappas laying around, i had them in my '87. but my '88 has stock 6x9's..., and i don't have a deck yet(it's pretty far down on my list of stuff to do..., kindof)
