Seriously doubt these kind of products

Lowering Springs. Do people actually buy things like this, does it work? I don't even see a spring rate spec. I just don't understand how products like this exist, I thought this kind of thing doesn't work

Why wouldn't they work? Most aftermarket lowering spring companies don't openly publish the rates of their springs. There's a handy guide on this board that lists them all, including these.

Okay, I'll read up on it all. Because this would be cool, a nice option besides ksports or ground controls w/konis

The best way to do coilovers is to find a set of Koni Reds and have them rebuilt into Yellows. Buy a set of coilover sleeves off of eBay and throw the springs away. Buy a set of circle track springs from the roundy-round supply catalog, assemble, and have awesome suspension.

No matter what, you will need at least Tokico Blues or revalved Bilstein Sports to handle any of the lowering springs available for these cars.

I just did some quick searching and put together a setup of Tokico Blues, H&R Springs, SPC Adjustable Rear Upper Control Arm, and Cheddas Top Hats front and rear (~$940). With your experience, do you think that is sufficient, or are you saying the Koni reds to yellows and ebay sleeves w/circle track springs would be better for the money?

Going with coilovers allows you to change spring rates, adjust ride height, and lets you corner weight your car. If you don't care about playing with your suspension or corner weighting it, then a set of lowering springs will do you just fine. What you have listed is a good setup, but I'd spring for Konis if you can find them. Even running a set of used Reds is an improvement over Tokico Blues.

Fixedit, aftermarket lowering spring really work and the one you've mentioned - Ksports is a great option. With this coilover kit you will be able to get 0.5"-2.5" Front and Rear Body Drop: KSport CHD240-AR - Honda Accord 1986 0.5"-2.5" x 0.5"-2.5" Asphalt Rally Spec Coilover Kit

    Yeah whoa..

Also that's a bit out of my price range. I wanna be able to add tophats and adjustable control arms in the rear, even then I can't afford it. But 1008 pounds in the front? That hurts

That is one of the reasons why I suggest putting together a set of coilovers using Konis. It lets you pick the spring rate you want, and you get a good shock to control things.

Re: Seriously doubt these kind of products

I have ran tokico with H&Rs and it was a nice sporty ride. A set of koni Reds could handle that big of a drop with that spring rate. the chances are rare that you will find a set of konis. I am running EF koni yellows with Ground Controls with custom spring rate because Im B swaped. I also have the Cheddas front top hat mod. I wish i would of gone with stiffer springs. so far im running 430 fronts and 315 rear. i feel like my front end needs to be stiffer. they can handle up to 500 so that would be my next upgrade.
