    Arrow D Series Swap

After reading the latest installment of the Honda Tuning catologues... I saw an article on the civic D16 SOHC VTEC motor. There is a ton of aftermarket support for this little motor. Plus it's a HELLA lot cheaper than buying a H22 or B16.
Fabrication of Motor Mounts isnt a problem, My dad runs a local machine shop, and he's a certified welder... (Im still learning). But yeah. If it's a possible swap lemme know.

Well from what I've read online on this post, it doesnt seem to be that big a deal, just as long as I have the "underthe hood" components to the Civic or Accord i rip it outof

    you'll need more than that.

Anyway, you could use a carb on a d15.

you biggest issue is gonna be axles. the civics are narrower and the d16 is shorter overall. figuring out the axle lenght is gonna be you up. id say go for a b16 or a b18 before bothering with a ZC its not enough motor for and accord. or just mod the a20a. its quiet capable. and since you have acess to a machine shop you can make your own induction solutions.

If your dad runs a shop, why not just buy an H22A and get him to weld it in?

why is everyone sayin talkin about how certain motors arent powerful enough for our accords. if our cars are rated at 110hp And you add 30hp (lets say for a zc) 140hp zc has alot more power than an a20 so whats the deal? anything with more hp than an a20 will make your car faster so stop sayin the shit about how these engines dont have enough power "for our cars." if a 110 hp motor can do it surely a zc could do it... zc's arent that much slower than b16s anyway.

Why go tto the trouble of swapping out motors at all then? For my year Accord the A20 is rated at 122hp, you could do some relitivly simple mod (header, cam regrind, CAI, exaust) and get right up in the 140hp range. It would be a hella lot cheaper and less complex.

zc's are cheap though you can get them for like 500 bucks... see you are lucky you have an 89 with 122 hp mine is rated at 110 30 hp is alot and 550 bucks aint that much for a smaller engine with 30 more hp. but i forgot you would mos tlikely have to get mounts so that woukld be more expensive.

Yeah, I hear you man. But like you said, the mounts would probibliy be more than the zc engine itself.

most D series engines (and B or ZC for that matter) have lower torque than our stock a20s, not good. Also D series engine suck because theyre kinda like B series but the pistons/heads/manifolds/cranks/rods are completely different and cant take as much power and or abuse as B series can.
