    Hi

    Howdy,

Just picked up an 86 LX-i from a member on here, at least I think he was as there were website stickers on the car.

At any rate, really enjoying the car so far and, will likely have some questions and need parts as I put some miles on the car. It will be my work mule and will probably see 1,400 miles a week until the wheels fall off and then, PART OUT!!

If anyone wants to help me find my EGR valve that would be awesome. I have a code 12 right now.

    Thanks,
    Curt

Wow! That's some miles. What are you doing that requires that much driving?

With that kind of mileage you should keep a 3gee running long enough where Honda will give you a new one once you hit a million miles or so.

Have you tried cleaning the EGR valve? Might not need to replace it if it's just clogged and not opening when it's supposed to.

    Re: Hi

I do field service for a robotics company. I cover Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Northern Indiana. Below is a picture of an arm I was working on last Friday. MIG/TIG arm, 50KG payload. Dirty...nasty shop..

Unfortunately, the car has little to nothing left of the rocker boxes and quarter panels so, I'll either have to do those in the spring or, retire the car when the doors fall off.

I tested the EGR valve with my handy dandy vacuum tester and unfortunately, it doesn't hold vacuum. It is also missing the gasket so I will have to make one of those when I find a good EGR valve. Really don't feel like spending $140 on one but, my mileage is only at 26MPG right now.
