I used STP Injector Cleaner When I did my EFI conversion and I add a fuel additive each time I take it out of storage.

I dunno if it actually helps but it helps my peace of mind

I don't really know about those but my dads truck was smoking really bad and he used the STP smoke treatment and that worked. I think STP is a pretty quality brand name. I talked with some dragracers and they said all those bottles that say they boost the octane level, don't work.

    mixed feeling..

i used some smoke treat to soften up my valve seals..seems to have worked, but EVERY time I've put anything but gas in my tank, I neded up changing the fuel pump..since I stopped..I haven;t had a problem. Fuel injector cleaner is mostly kerosene..check the labels

What is it doing (better gas mileage?) I used seafoam and that worked so good that it seemed I had to break in the car another time.

i have used the Engine restorer that comes in a Tin can kinda. Its was weird cause it was blue shit and really thick. I used this on my gf's 89 corolla gts. her's was drinking up oil like crazy, crazy enough to add a quart every two weeks and its idle was kinda grumpy. THen we went to walmart, got the engine restorer and added it in with the castrol drive hard 10w-30 oil and bang, the engine was quiter, i mean a lot quiter and idles really smooth and did not burn up oil anymore. It also helped to detect oil leak in her oil cooler hose for some reason. and it was good. I really like that product if you ask me, but i never use smoke stop or stp engine treatment or fuel injector clearner. I think i used the gas treatment once, but i did not feel anything. So in my opinion, they are just a big waste of money.

Yeah I might just do that. Mine idles hard. Could just be the cold affecting the weber. i think I might need to get a better fuel pump. I saw the weber ones but they didnt have a price anywhere.

    slick 50 for me

when i first got my 87 artic white LX, i dropped some slick 50 into it. When I pulled the head 170k miles later to change the gasket, I could still see the cross hatching in the cylinders..and the engine could have actually passed as a rebuild..no carbon anywhere I could find. Believe it or not. Of course mostly highway driving and not abusing may have contributed to the good news, but in theroy these teflon type addtives do have some merit

in rgerad to the hard idling issue..maybe check the fuel pump inlet screen for clogging, especially if you didn't have the filler pipe recall done ( look down there with a FLASHLIGHT) to see if there is any rust happening. The rust is so fine it can get thru the filters. I use a giant size filter at the secondary to avod troubles
