The B20A5 with accord mounts wont work at all. There is a lot of work to be done to fit a B20A5 and Place Racing has done it before and it required cutting the frame and all kinds of crap.

ok class! with the lesson I taught you you should be able to determine right away that this is an ACCORD B20A.

    THIS is the ocrrect one.

    1- It leans forward
2- it says B20A (tough the JDM B20A5 says B20A too)
3- The Airbox is on the back of the intake manifold
4- The Serial number begins with 164

This is all in the FAQ

Now, if that place has some more of the SAME kind, some fellows will get a nice engine swap.

Uh, yeah, I knew that. I was just, ummm, testing you guys. Yeah, that's the ticket. Anyways, the guy wanted $600 for the whole shebang, if I remember correctly. Could probably talk him down.

hopefully i'm not the only one wondering this, why is it that the 'lude b20's won't fit? i assumed they'd be something like chevy's and only have a difference in mounting for different motor sizes offered in close years. is the block the same? or is the complete motor different?

I took pic's of the B20A we have at the shop. I work for John (ToyotaEngines), and on the B20A we have at the shop the one I bought reads only B20A then the serial # bellow and I know they are the right ones because I researched it.
Plus we just got a gold valve cover B20A in that my friend Lyle bought for his 86 LX-I

am i trippin or is it impossible for any components off an A-series motor to be compatible with a B-series or any other honda series motor, if i could do the b20a5 swap without having to worry about intake/exaust manifolds, trani, and what not i would do it in a heart beat
worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but gets you nowhere

Okay I am going to foreign engines this week to get a replacement motor for my 86. Can you tell him you're sending a friend over his way? What price range am I looking at for a replacement stock?

The Foreign Engines Inc. that he was talking about is located in Lynnwood, Wash. I got both of my ZC engines through them and they delivered for free. I had no complaints about the engines, they ran fine and were in good condition. They also knew exactly what I was talking about when I called. ZC's are just as confusing to order as a B20a so they should know what they are talking about.
The prices were about $100 more than online but without shipping it saved me $100 in the end.

I dont think they are that hard to find. I know a lot of people in CT that run them. At least the ZC's are known cause not many people know of the B20A that are not into 3rd gen accords.

129hp and 106lb-ft@5700 rpm. I think but not positive that the B16 stuff works on them. I dont know why they were so popular but they seemed to do well racing at the track. But then again most people had them in CRX's but i am not impressed with the stock horsepower. But one kid i know that has it got his dirt cheap and it was a drop in swap so he couldnt go wrong for a DOHC engine.
