Btw, The spring rates are 50 front and 20 back.......... hehehehe
naw, it's 350 and 250 rear.
I had 500 lbs springs in the front but then they were too tall. I took them back and then decided to wait longer.
350 and 250 huh? awesome.. i will start saving my pennies!
this will be a truly good ride when i am done! (soooo many dollars later)
shit this is gonna be expensive, even with 4 free konis and ground controls!![]()
your'll be fine. keep it the way it is, and take my struts in and get them redone to your specs.Originally posted by bobafett
so will i be "ok" running the coilovers with stock konis in front and tokicos in back?
i dont wanna hear "you should upgrade your struts so you wont bounce around" all i want to know, is, is this a recipe for disaster?
at least i have the 4 struts "laying around" and i wont have any downtime while they are getting worked on!![]()
I do know that the rod in the driver front is bent. But that wont matter, Koni will replace the rod to begin with when shortening.
good deal... thx for the heads up!
josh did you have a catback or just a muffler? the pipe only looks bigger about 1 foot before the muffler!

I only had a muffler.ehehe
hey what %%% are you windows tinted, i am tempted to jack them and get the front sides tinted to the same level!
Yep. I was going an 100 in Downtown seattle freeway when i came across a big dip. my goodness! I thought i blew out my tires! I know it had to happen then becuase afew weeks later, i was tweaking the suspension when i noticed that it was bent. The strut nut even came loose.Originally posted by Jims 86LXI HB

cool. how easy is it to switch rear windows? i assume the rear sides are easy! tint will help the effect of the gunmetal as well!
Near the door, open the door and look at the plastic cover, there are three screws. undo those. then inside, near the rear, where you can push out the window, undo the clip. viola!Originally posted by bobafett

i figured that the side rears wouldnt be that bad!maybe i will do that later this week!
Oh! Okay, well shoot I never took out the rear window but i'm sure u need to pop off the lining.. uh.. I dunno I dont know if it's glued on like the windshield or something.Originally posted by bobafett

What do you mean where do you do it?
Mark, That was beautifull. Would you be my spokesperson on that matter?
Mark explained it perfectly.
Chris, you should do whatever is in your budget. If that calls for only revalving and shortening that do so. If that is out of your range for the time being, Dont do it. Save Save Save. You WILL not regret it.
I have wished that I took the step to get it completly right the first time BUT, Back then, We all were not very educated on this subject mostly untill Jim came around.
I had those coilovers and koni's for gosh, almost as long as i have had my car. way back in 2000? Oh, wait i think it was christmas 99.Long time.

ummm.... allllllllrighty thenn!
anyway, damn Chris, why don't you just take Josh's entre car home and return that little box of parts that you don't use from his car.
Hey Jim... ...Could you hook us up with the #'s for Koni, and for G.C.? I'm debating now on the DZ c/o's. I think I just might front the $$ for the GC's but with something like a 450/400 or so. If I call them up, can I avoid the added expense of ordering a "stock" set of GC's, then having to order another set of spec springs, or can I just order it all from them just like that? ....damn, I gotta get those Koni's/B&G's off and get 'em out so I can begin to get this suspension underway.....
...Chris, as for the side windows... ...well, here's where my hat goes off to Josh. That's exactly the way I took mine off too. As for the rear, ya' got me. Ur guess is as good as mine.

Koni 859-586-4100 ask for Gordon
Ground-Control 530-677-8600
Ok, I just had a conversation with Ground-control, last week. If you order the coilovers from them, you can choose a different spring rate at no cost, meaning $339. My understanding is, that is true for ANY coilver they sell, that sell's for $329-$339. If you were buying a $299 coilover for a teg, they do charge $30 to change the spring rates on those. When I had talked to them last year, they did tell me their was a added fee to change from their standard spring rates. They have changed their policy (yeah).![]()
