i thinks he means that he has dimming lights.
if your lights dimming than you need a cap. the other solutionwould be putting bigger battery.

there are other solutions however- you could buy small marine batteries and have them close by your amps and use them as stored power like a cap - or you could check out your alt- it could be loosing strength-you could replace it or buy a larger one- call ohio generator for more info on a larger alt
