Hi Guys:
My car has a Toyo distributor. I would like to install a new one. I can get a good deal on a Hitachi model. Will my car work with this new Hitachi distributor?
Thanks,
Claude

yes... as long as it's carb hitachi.
but then I think Tec is the only one to make an EFI distributors.
so then yeah you have nothing to worry about.
If you don't mind me asking why are you replacing the distributor... first it was only the distributor seal.

I have been trying to isolate an idle problem. I thought it was an improper fuel mixture but I have since set to specs as well as appropriate idle speed. I've replaced the cap and rotor as well. The inside did look very reddish, a sign of worn bearings.
Oh, my engine is carbureted. The carburetor was made by Kehin.

Yeah I know... No worries Claude.
Did you check the fuel filters?
and have a look at the spark plugs... it always gives you an idea of what you air/fuel mixture is like.
I just hope that it is just the distributor, i'd hate to see you come on here asking about replacing valve seals or head gaskets next time around.
