I'm considering getting a security system for my DX with manual door locks. I haven't found a security kit that doesn't have the remote door lock/unlock so I figured I'd see about converting my doors to power locks. Has anyone done this? Is it hard? Can I use the power lock stuff from the LX/LXi's?

lock actuators are super cheap, and pretty easy to install. I installed a pair on my f-150, the only problem I had was figuring out where to put the switches.
Yeah...you can get the actuators for hella cheap on ebay...I think I paid 15 w/shipping or something. The hardest part on the 3g is mounting them. I had to make some custom arrangements so that they'd work. I don't have a switch mounted though...they're only hooked up to my remote start. Definitely worth every penny and minute it took to put in there, though!
