Intake

I have a 1986 Honda Accord Lx. it is carbed and I was wondering if any of you know how to make an intake for it. It already has a custom exhaust, no cat, no resonator, with 2.25 inch piping to a ractive muffler. And just ne to know how to make an intake.

you have to get the airbox off a 1988-1991 civic DX or standard... just not SI

Well I have an intake system put on my 86 LX Carbed 5 speed and it's a very simple thing to make... well atleast it looks easy to make.... I bought one off someone here on the board and you have to be creative in other words... u will have to make a special adapter of some sort to go over the carburator with a tube end to it so that you can connerct the pvc pipe to it then the cone filter..... Just go to the search menu and type like "Intake" or something.... or you can also look in the Technical section under carb section and I'm sure you'll see one of my many posts/threads about an intake system on a carb.... good luck bro. :-) Hope thats helps.

On my stock carb intake will it do anything for performance if I remove the stock air inlet and put on a bigger tube and reroute it? Also I hear that in the fender the is an intake silencer, is there? Would it dso anything if I take that out?

Is there anyone who can make me an intake if i send money and pay for the whole thing and shipping. I have and '86 Accord with a carb. I am having trouble doing it my self. And i really want an intake on it.

webber is your best bet... intakes on carbs havent really impressed me. seems like the people that have done them werent toooooooo thrilled. i would just do the conversion if you have a few $$$ to spare!

A lost of the threads you made were simmilar so I merged them into one... you should check out the carb tech section, the link I gave you above, and run a search. If you have anymore questions about intakes ask them here instead of creating another thread.
