    Gotta Question here

Hey guys I am dire need of an answer to this question. My friend says his car can beat mine. His is a stock manual DOHC '88 Integra (A hatchback.), with what I think has a D16/17 motor. That's what he told me, anyway. I, on the other hand, have a stock automatic SOHC '89 LX-i, and i have an A20A1 in mine...so which one do you think will win? I have pride in my car, but he keeps slammin' it just because he put an aftermarket muffler on it. I would all opinions, please...Thanks a bunch

    Love,
    In Him

    Matt

If you have an LX-i, you got the A20A3 buddy. That's 22 more hp than the A20A1

I've taken those Integras at least twice in my automatic 88 hatchback. Go for it, just floor it with your AC off and watch your rearview.

The 88-89 A20A3 (fuel injection) has 120 horsepower. Much better than the A20A1 (carbeurator, sp?) which has 98. Just for your info. the 86-87 A20A3 has 110 hp.

If you want a small free boost in power you can clear your intake pipe.

    I thought the 88 and 89 Lx-i + Se-i had A20a4. Correct me if I am wrong.

Its going to be a battle. He gots you clean if he knows how to race! If he dont you then you might slip by. If you going to try it, run it in low gear Open full throttle (pedal to the metal) and then when you have some good momemtum at like 5-6 RPM slam it in third and ride it all the way!!! Good Luck!

    A20A3 has 122hp.
    and D16a3 has 118hp
if he has 5 speed than he may have a chance but i don't think.
before you race him make your own air intake and bolt on a new exaust.
