Should have just gotten a straight pipe. It would be a bigger gain but louder. I don't mind the noise though.

yeah but you lose torque because of decreased "exhaust velocity"

anyway its illegal not to have a cat anyway, so why not be safe and keep your low end power?

Mine isn't a high pitch sound though. It's actually really deep sounding.

I like my highflow cat better than my straight pipe any day it kepps the low end well is legal and I think I lost nothing in the high end as exhaust velocity stayed the same while backpressure was allready plenty low so no gas reversion in the low RPM's

yeah, when i had no muffler it was not grownling either. It was more of a deep base-d sound if u might say, i wish i would end up with a muffler that would sound like that.

hmm i think that this illusion of lose of low end from increase scvenging is a farse. ive run striag pipe and cats and seen a negliable diference on the dyno and at the track in fact the one 2 1/2 no cat fully andrel bent system i had with no turbo ran better then the 2 1/4 system. and i was runnign a equal lenght 4 into 1 long tube large diamter header. the was a very minimal lose in low end TQ but it was all under 2200 rpm. that not even usable power down there. so your realy kicking you selves silly. free up the exhaust and learhow to luanch the car at 3000rpm with a stick and youll find a much improved ET in the 1/4 mile.

Yeah I was surprised when I got the new A3 spec motor in, and still gained power with the 2.5" exhaust pipe. All I need is my ciustom header.

    on a side note:
I changed out and emulsion tube on my weber to the F-50 instead of the F-6 and decreased my idle jets to 60/50 and turned the idle screw out only 1 to 1/2 turn. and I still run super rich. I know last time I had F-6 emulsion and the 65/55 idle jet and was able to turn the idle screw out 3 turns and get a stoich reading. so maybe it's the motor or the emulsion tube.
