Question about 2nd generation integra lip?!?!

Ok, i called the junkyard this afternoon and they said they have a 89 integra w/ the front bumper on it. I want to take the lip off of it and put it on my car. Does the lip just simply unscrew from the bumper or do you have to cut it off? Also, what modifications will i need to do to get it to fit?

hmm. im using a 1st gen integra lip. mine just unscrewd off. but i would say that the 2nd gen lip would unscrew also. you do know that the 2nd gen lip is a smaller lip then the 1st gen. try to get a 1st gen instead.

The 89 integra is 1st gen not second.

To answer your question yes it does screw off. One thing though is that those bolts are usually rusted tight. You will probably want to cut them off. If you try forcing the rusted ones out it will brake the mounting holes of the lip.

yeah but the 89 teg bumper was different than the 86-7/8

i dont know what makes then different, but at the 1g teg site i have seen a lot of people switch to 89 bumper! they do also make a body kit for the 1g teg, and look, the rear bumper fits almost perfectly to a hatch (warning, BIG PICS) http://www.com-tech-online.com/car/

The difference between the 86-87 and 88-89 teg is the same as the accord. The bumper in the later years is a little fuller and has combination lights in the bumper.

Is that your car in the pic? The teg bumper on the Accord hatch is about 1 1/2 - 2 inches too narrow. Thats why the bumper sides point outward.

So we have to find an 86-87 teg to make it look good and fit right? (on our car?)

    thats goldy accords car...

anyway i think the bumper is messed up. i think its warped to that shape, i am pretty sure it fits. but i think its gonna be like 1 too short, front to back wise... who knows.. i havent actually seen that in person yet, so i dunno. 87hybrid sent me those pics.

If you look at the lip at the top of the bumper thats supposed to meet the bodyline, You can notice that at the sides it doesn't meet up.

Its a good try though. It might fit with a little modification, but then again why not modify a spoiler than a stock bumper.

i think that "may" be because its not all the way bolted in. but i am not sure... anyway i dont think spoilers look good on HB's, its just not my thing... i am sure there is a really perfect one out there somewhere, but i havent seen it!

the 88-89 integra front lip does not fit complete, you have to add about 1/4 in in the middle to make it work.. I am thinking about the whole bumber, and just adding to it... I like the way it looks, just have to add something to the middle, on top of the bumper..

I just made myself a lip from a 86 integra, all i had to do was cut it in the middle and add a 2 1/2 piece of lip in the middle and it fits perfect! Sure alot less work than the crx lip
