Hello everybody just joining this site I got myself can of worms but very happy about this breaty. I bought this because I had a 86 when I was 18 years old now came across this 1988.
Hears the story couple months ago I was at grocery store I saw this Beaty in parking lot 1988 accord very tiny rust by gas door that's it so i waited for the guy to come out after 20 mins he did so we talked and told him I wanted his car when ready to sell so he calls me couple mounths later and says he moving am I still interested so I go check out car it has 100,000 miles and he is oringal owner witch the title shows 5 miles he bought brand new in 1988. So it needed work of the bat no power steering thought was just hose but needed a new rack pinion. Both front springs were cracked but that was cheap bought lowering springs for 55$ for all 4 did breaks rotors caliper brake hoses I bought plugs wires rotor cap and now the idle is fucked up found vacuum leak in intake gasket. I did not think would be so much work. To fix this old Beaty. But this old guy must did nothing because everything is old and oringal but I think after I do this intake gasket and carb gasket it should be perfect. I Hope. I bought the car for 200$ plus I have prob put another 5-7 hundred into it.

I'm surprised you were able to find one in the Chicago area that isn't a total rust bucket. It must not have been driven much and kept inside. Post up some pictures of it!

Great find! That's the only way you're able to get one in up here. Either that or leave them a note under the wiper. That one must've been garaged a lot. Take good care of it. Wash the underbody and don't run it thru automatic car washes.

Sounds like a good find. Very nice looking and well sorted now. There will probably be little things to come up from time to time but you can fix a lot of things for the price of a car payment.

Lot of car for two grand!
