    OEM steels

I've been wondering this for a while, did honda happen to make some of their oem steel wheels in 15" with those lovely hubcaps that are held on with the lugs? The 85 needs some new rubber, 175 70 R13 tires arent good for much other then smokeing. I want to go to a larger rim size to get an aspect ratio thats going to be better suited for auto cross, along with the fact that there aren't too many good tires available to fit a 13x5.5 rim. I still want to keep that stock grocery getter look that the car has and I'm too cheap to put money into rims anyway. Anyone know if maybe the later civics or anything honda sold came with a 15" steel with a 4x100mm bolt pattern and some ugly oem looking hubcaps to match?

Maydenalla (I typed that wrong I think, sorry!) has 15" steelies and covers on hers; think they came from a Civic.

I know that your looking for ugly but why not some 90-93 Integra Alloys. They are 14x5.5 and they look pretty good or maybe some Civic Si or newer Integra alloys. People will think our a ricer but then you smack em around!

Yeah the civic's will be your best bet, but something tells me they won't be that easy to find. Hopefully I'm wrong.

yeah, u'll have to get them from the 7th gen civic. not to sure wut size they are tho. either 15x5 or 5.5. the 6th gen's 15s where alloys on the SI or honda optional equipment. The hot tires right now are the Falken Azenis. get them in 205/50/15. not sure if they will fit on a 5 inch rim tho. I want to try them out BADLY. they look KILLER. nitto nt450s are nothing but trash. kumhos 712s are a little better.

15x5 thats a doughnut, you sure its not 15x6. I believe the rims on my brothers cavilier are 15x6, I'd just steal his but they are 5 lug. 205s will fit a 5.5 rim, but they get a bit of a buldge in the sidewall, Those are 205 60 R13s on the cheesy rims I have on the nova in the pic in my sig. I'll try to swing by the expensive junkyard and see what they have, the cheap ones I usually got to are lucky to have something made after 1990. What do people usually do when the get a set of rims anyway, keep the steels or let the tire shop dispose of them?

well the 88 and 89 LXIs came with 14x5.5 with 195/60s. the GSR and SI rims are 15x6 with 195/55 tires. Its highly unlikely that they would put 15x6 inch STEELS on a civic that comes with 185/65/15 tires. the old civic steels where 14x5 with 185/65/14 tires.

You'r probalby right there. Looks like I'm going to the junkyard with the tape measure and finding out for sure. I'll see what I can find in steel, I might have to settle for some factory alloys though. I'll see what happens, I just don't want to drasticly change the way the car looks.

I might be picking up a pair of crx si alloys for the car. Its one of those friend of a friend of a friend has these rims that he wants to get rid of deals. He says they are 15s but I have a feeling that they are gonna turn out to be 14s. I might settle for them and I might not. Not much info to go on yet. But hell the car looks like an oversized gen1 crx anyway (that pic in the sig makes it look long, its a good deal shorter then a gen3 hb). If I do end up buying them, mostly going to be dependant on the condition and the price, what kind of selection am I going to be looking at for decent street/autox tires.

i would definately go with the FALKEN AZENIS. they come in 195/60/14 or 205/50/15s. i have heard and seen nothing but good about them. Or go with the always popular Kumho Ecsta 712s.

I'm gonna try out the FALKEN AZENIS and upgrade to 205 from 195, gonna kick it up a notch. My W-10's are cupped and I've tired of listening to them. I'll fix the problem that causing that first.

Well since kumho's 712's in 195/55-15 use a harder compound then the other 712's sizes I went with the W-10's. They have very predictible breakaway and take abuse VERY well. And turn-in is also very good. I just want even more stick. And considering I do not hold back around turns, they are wearing very well.

BTW some people say they are to loud, I haven't noticed that.

Just want to be sure, what type of acura integra rims will fit our accords the 90-93 or 94-2001. I know some one who has some for sale I think they would look nice.

I want to end up doing one of three things:

1)Get my hands on some black steelies in 14" or 15" (I think they would give my car a "race look")

2)Get my hands on some Acura integra rims, if they do fit

3)Keep searchin for some black painted rims. I saw some body's accord with Gun metal colored rims (I think that is name of the color) which would go great with my brown/champagne color or my car.

I also want to move up in size from 13" to like 14" or 15" I don't want to get too big.
Question: Is it necessary to have bigger tires like 16" and up for better handling1

    CARBurn,

    1. any of the integra model years will have rims that will fit.

    2. Go with the 15" rims. If you check out the selection of high performance tire these days, you will not find many choices for 14". It's allot better for 15" and even better for 16"+

3.15" rims are a popular choice among autocrosser's. tirerack.com has a interesting comparo on plus sizing. The show you the track times for a civic with stock 14" oem rims/tires, then 15", 16" and 17". Check it out for your self, you be the judge. I'm running 15" alloys for performance reason's, but I think 16's would look better, oh well
