    healight problems

I have a 1989 honda accord lx...I am unable to turn on the headlights from the switch on the steering wheel, but they will turn on from the manual switch on the dash, but there are no lights on. my husband has checked all fuses under the drivers side and under the hood. Today he replaced the control unit from the retractor and the 40 amp fuse under the hood in the relay box. It looks like we are not getting any power from the fuse box under the dash to the retractor or lights....my husband thinks it could be a broken wire.......any suggestions......thanks !!!!! becky

The switch on the dash is not supposed to turn the lights on, just flip the headlights up (so they don't get frozen shut when it snows and such). Other than that tidbit of info, I'm pretty useless here... do the high beams work?

my buddy had the lights starting to flicker becuase they were losing power thru the the switch on the steering colmn (the blinker switch) That's most likely what needs to be replaced or fixed.

Yeah it's the combo switch. I just went through all that shit. I got a "new" one from the junkyard, and then that one fried to. So i took it to my mechanic...and $270 later, i had everything working again. A new combo switch runs $180 from the dealer. good luck.
