smoke from filter on valve cover

i have a breather filter on my valve cover and sometimes when i drive hard it lets out some smoke, and i can smell oil. i know at one time i overfilled it by a little so i think its just spitting the oil out that way to get rid of the excess. anyone know?

yeah to a certain extent its normal unless you have tons of smoke pouring out of the breather its not hurting anything. Exactly how much smoke do you have?

I don't think it would be too bad b/c one time it did a nasty run on and some smoke came out of the airfilter that was on the weber. It was awhile ago.

it could also be because its a little cold outiside and u running the car hard would make the oil a little hotter as u know. its nothing bad or serious. just make sure ur engine is in the normal operation temperature. A little excess oil is not bad so dont sweat over it.

yea im thinking its just because its cold and it is steam from the hot oil, because i checked the oil and its at the right level now.
