Suggestion: hard to find parts list

Sticky post with hard to find parts for 3g. I'm talking new stuff.

    I know a few.

    1. Brake proportion valve

    2. Door rubber moldings

    3. Decent rebuilt distributors?

    4. Stock style power steering reservoir/filter

how detailed do we want to get ?

Body wise, iirc one of the fenders is very hard to find, upper window molding clips, and a majority of the other window clips for that matter.

Hey if its hard to get its hard to get.

I figure start with impossible to find "stock" parts not JDM stuff no one heard of and go from there.

I did pay 281$ for a speed sensor I broke off my trans. I found that a little high so maybe that could be a 2nd list.

speed sensor is discontinued now as i have tried to find a new one(for a while). also the FITV and the coolant fitting for the FI A20 motors are a difficult one to find even in jy due to them being rusted.

sunroof seals is a hard one. distributor i have been runnning a decent one from autozone or oreillys. 2-3 years now its decent with a lifetime warranty. i think the electrical stuff is a hit or miss honestly.

People seem to have good enough luck with the new distributors from Richporter on eBay.

Re: Suggestion: hard to find parts list

Im gonna say no if in fact it was maybe a tick higher. I was running 28-30 mpg with 30% e-85 for years. Just seasons and time of day (headlights up) changed it slightly. I remember first getting the car and it was always 26,27,28. I think the K and N was the first "mod" I ever did to it.

Another plus is it got rid of all the intake plumbing in the engine bay and you can take the oil filter off from above.

Re: Suggestion: hard to find parts list

Well, there's this thread I just sectioned off.

    https://www.3geez.com/forum/restorat...ht=print+parts

I mean, if we're talking about stuff we can't find? That's a long list and I'm not sure how far to take it. We can't find door moldings, rear glass, any body panels at all. If we ever run into something, we're totally screwed. Emblems, branded floor mats, seat covers, door handles. Any interior components, steering wheel, shift boot, glove box, SE-i armrests. I lost a bushing for the air cleaner housing, so it's back to the yard to search again. Hard parts for the trans. That coolant pipe at the back of the engine that rusts all to hell. PS fluid reservoirs. Performance parts of any kind. A lot of the parts we CAN find aren't fit to use anymore. I bought a reman PS pump cause new isn't available. Ran it for less than an hour and threw it away cause it started clattering at me. Maybe that was my bad, but that seems to happen an awful lot with stuff now.

    There's so much.
