    Prelude Upper Control Arms

    Hi Guys:

I'm considering installing Prelude upper control arms instead of the stock Accord arms when I replace my front struts. However, I'm not lowering my car. Are these even necessary or should I just stick with the stock Accord control arms.

    Thanks,
    Claude

That's exactly what I did (Prelude arms for no drop). One of mine is making a little noise now, but I think that's because one of the washers I used was a little twisted. I haven't heard of anyone else with the same problem.

I'd say go ahead and try it. Remeber that you'll need an alignment right away after the install. I needed 3 1/8" washers on each side to get a good fit.

The only real drawback is the cost of the alignment. Of course afterwards you can be sure that your camber is correct.

Were you able to align it to stock specs on stock suspension with the prelude arms? I've measured the stock arms and the prelude arms. Using the prelude arms will result in positive camber on a stock suspension (according to my measurements).

I got zero camber at stock height without a problem.

I haven't taken mine apart and rebuilt them with different washers yet. It's just that I know one of the 6 washers I used was a little off and only one of the arms (the left side) makes any noise. Hopefully I'm right and $1 or new washers and some free time will solve the problem.

There you go meanaccord (I said it 6 posts ago). Big enough inside diameter to fit around the bolt and maybe an inch outside diameter.
