ummmm you get a civic intake and cut off however much you need to make it fit under the hood and put a filter on the end, its rather simple... even though mine dont really fit the best i like it!

it's really not that hard to cut off some of the intake. just put the filter where you would like it, then put the pipe in the throttle body, and without the filter connected to the pipe, you can see how much you need to cut off. eh?

Here's pics of two diff. true CAI's that I dug up. The first is Steves (88lxi68). You can see in both pics that the battery was moved, but not relocated entirely.

    ....and...

    ..actually, here's another... ..it's TeKKnoTeKK's

Do you think the heat sheild did anything dramatic? I would just put a hood scoop over it if you want colder air.

The heatshield did not increade HP when the car was cold but I also did not feel the loss of HP when the car was warm espically off the line.

There's a pic of the civic intake that was on my 88 lx-i before I sold it. As far as cutting it down to size, I did like they said and lined it up and saw how much there was to trim off. Cut a little bit at a time until you get it where you want it.

I was talking about a STOCK civic intake its practically the same thing, and its much easier to cut. lemme get a pic up here sometime and show you the only thing that gets in the way though are the brake lines.... I was thinkin about using one of those thinner batteries for my CAI but will my subs still work fine? or will I be losin power due to the alternator always bein on,because of the smaller battery?

I DONT THINK HAVING A SMALLER BATTERY WILL MAKE U LOSE POWER BECUASE MY HOMEBOY HAS A SMALL BATTERY IN HIS 4TH GEN CIVIC AND YET IT STILL WORKS FINE HES ABOUT TO GET THREE SUBS AND A COUPLE AMPS BUT I KNOW HES RUNING 2 STROBE KITS, A UNDERBODY GLOW KIT AND HIS DECK OFF A SMALLER BATTERY AND IT WORKS FINE. BUT I DONT KNOW HOW MUCH MORE POWER THE BATTTERY IS GONNA PUT OUT. SO GO AHEAD AND TRY A SMALLER BATTERY AND IF IT DOESENT WORK GET A BIGGER ONE.

This is kinda a stupid question, but here I go, What part on a modded 92-95 Civic Intake do you cut, the part that connects to the manifold or the part the filter connects to, please be gentle, im kinda new.
