Beck Arnley vs ATP Automotive vs Pioneer ACCELERATOR CABLE

So my accelerator cable broke on my 83 LX hatch 4-Speed Auto and I'm trying to find a good replacement that won't break in a month and leave me stuck at the worst times. And towing being $200 for a short distance. I've checked on eBay and they have a ATP brand. Rock Auto has Beck Arnley cheap and Auto Zone has a Pioneer brand cable for close the price of ATP. Has anyone had any experiences with this part from these manufacturers? I don't want to throw money at a part if it will last as long as the one from Rock Auto. I know these companies markup product for profit but I just want some real world experiences to see how good or bad they are. Thanks!

Usually the outer cable breaks in two pieces on the connection on the firewall, the original ones were plastic there. The replacements tend to have a metal piece so the Pioneer one should be ok as far as i know.

    Auke.

They're probably all made at the same place, and just rebranded. I regularly get old stock parts like this that are one brand on the box and another in the package. The other problem you're going to run into is the length. A lot of them are actually "universal" and fit 20 different Hondas. This just means that the cable is really long, as usually the ends are the same across cars.... Then you end up with 3 extra feet of cable in the bay. I would try to find one that's spec'd out to the proper length for your car.

Thanks guys! Appreciate it. Yea probably they make them in one place and just tag them with different names and price them differently to make more money. That's why there's a ton on ebay and they all state they fit thd 83 Accord but none are close to the one currently in the car. I'm gonna go with what seems to be the proper length for the car.
