Ever been raped by a mechanic?

I purchased my lovely 87 accord lx for $150 off of a friend of mine. So i took it to the shop after i installed a carb and intake onto it. Well Here is the thing they want $1250.00 ot finish getting the car in perfect condition. This includes.

New timing belt,seals
New waterpump
New powersteering hose
New mirror for drivers side
New side marker light
Rethread on the suction pipe

This is why i hate my import but i hope it turns out good because it sould be back monday or tues. Labor costs a shitload more then parts i hate mechanics

why dont you do some of it yourself? Mirrors and side marker light should take you less than a half hour... save you big bucks too

its all the other stuff that costs so much i love my car but she is drainin me of money quick

You could do most of that stuff on your own for a lot cheaper or if you don't wanna do it, ask around the board if a member close to you would be willing to help you out.

Oh yeah the days before i knew how to fix my car i was burned badly and my car turned into a POS real fast. Im a pretty decent mechanic for teaching myself and i must say this accord is pretty simple to work on. I now work at an Audi dealership and those cars seem like a pain cause the motor is kinda a tight fit especially the S4-S8. The best thing i can say is spend $63 for the Honda Service manual and read it cause its a very good book.
