Just swap over the slip ring. It plugs right into the original harness on the car, however I think you need to remove one wire from the connector where it connects to the main harness on the car.

i think its a blue one?
Blue/red
how does the slip ring come off ,if it's the blue/red wire that would be the easiest way thanks.
For the slip ring you need to have the steering wheel off. Then remove the two halves that cover the combo switch. You will see 4 screws holding the slip ring on. Remove the 4 screws and a ziptie and the slip ring comes right off.

Is the whole connector different or just that one has an extra wire?

the connector is diff sei has 3-wires and exi only has 2-wires on slip ring.what are they for anyway, the audio and cruise .i don't need them anyway.
Lol... I am 90% certain that the horn wire is the 3rd wire that doesnt plug in if you use the sei slip ring. I used the sei slip ring when putting my new steering wheel on, and I now have no horn.

the blue/red wire is separate from the other wires that plug in,that's the one for the horn.so the other plug is for cruise and radio controls.is this right?
You can just remove the extra pin on the connector and plug it in. Or, check to see if you can swap that part of the harness from the SE-i.
The extra wire is for the audio controls, at least I think.

well i got rid of cruise and don't need audio controls, might have to change the deck since it's not working very well.can i hook another deck to the factory amp or not.
Aftermarket decks have their own amps. I am not sure on the output of the stock amp on the SE-i.
