    decent speakers?

ok i have an amp, just got my subs, i am planning to get http://www.ikesound.com/Prod_Details.asp?Prod_Id=1154

my next question is, what kind of speakers should i get? keep in mind that i'm in college and can't afford to spend too much, but i still want decent speakers....

she is going to be running the speakers off of the head unit... which is 25.4 RMS 50.4 peak...

anyway shes prolly looking for 6.5s all around. what is gonna last, and not blow out. and be matched well to that kind of power?

i have 2 pairs of the "nicest" wally world pioneer 6.5s, and they work nicely on that deck, but i am sure there is better deals out there, and speakers that would be better suited for that deck.

any advice for her. think under $200 for 4 speakers.

i don't care about ID3 tags all that much and it does play cd's. my bf has the step up from mine (the one your referring to) and they're functionally the same except for the screen and since i will be driving i don't care too much about the screen and don't want to pay the difference between the two...

Get 6.5 pioneers from "wally World" and some decent 6x9's and cut out the holes in your hatch thing in back
    I got a pioneer deck 6400
    wally world 6.5 up front
pioneer 6x9's 3 way with one fireing up and one fireing down
and it gets loud and clear I like SQ lots so I am kinda pickey
Vibrates the shit outta the side mirrors, and if your lucky once and while your rear view shakes a little

    i would recomend alpine SPS-1729S http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=18799
this is what i have in my car. i am running 4 of them from 4 channel alpine amp. i am pushing about 45-50 watt into them, and they have no problem.
i had them wired to HU itself before i installed amp and they sounded great.
they have very nice high and mid. bass is kind lucking but that is what subs for.
they retail for about $80-90 from a dealer.

i want 6.5's all around...so you're saying just getting the ones from wally world and they should be decent? bobafett has the wally world pioneers and they sound good, but i was just wondering if that was the best way to go or if there was something else out there that was a good deal and sounded good as well.

pioneer doesnt have any info about the speakers, or else i could find specs, but i think they are 80rms, and 200 peak... so i am pretty sure they want a little more juice than i am giving them. 25rms a peice

shepard those alpines look like they are better suited for the power we are using, and i am pretty sure most people like alpine stuff!

    thx for the link!

btw, what do you guys think about kicker speakers? i am prolly gonna get one of their amps, but i didnt know if their speakers were any good!

Go to www.mobilemusic.com and enter site and click on car audio section. Near the bottom there is a set listed for $49.99. What are your thoughts of these?

I have Infinity Reference's all around in my car. It makes the car rattle and with my head unit the high end is ooohhh sooooo clear. The only gripe I have with them is that when you are playing them at high volumes they high end distorts a little because the tweeter has a crossover but the woofer plays full range. This doesn't matter since I got a sub and I set the high pass crossovers on my head-unit though. So if you get a sub and it has crossover's then I would suggest those. You can get them here for a good price. I have the older $59 ones. I'm not sure about crossovers on the new ones. If you have a little more money definately get the Kappas. They are THE SHIT!

personally, i like infinity... i have a pair of reference components up front, and cheap wallyworld tube thingies in the back and i powered it with a 50x4 old sony amp, and it sounded great... if you'll go a bit over $100 a pair, you can have the references like mine... maybe less on ebay

I would suggest a pair of infinity kappa's in the back and maybe some JBL's or Alpines in the front. I have Kappa's in the back, and xplods in the front and the kappa's pound for 6" rounds. They're the discontinued Kappa 60M series. So so nice but thats my opinion.
