PS, great site.
I’m looking for a new spring, thanks.
EBay rockauto honda parts now
Yup, tried them all.

Here’s the part #
14516pd2000
Comes up as obsolete almost everywhere, and the places it doesn’t, cancels the order because it is obsolete, their records just weren’t updated.

It's a junkyard part. You won't find it new, unless you have it made. It's possible that you could find a universal throttle return spring from the parts store that you could make work, but I'd get it from the junkyard myself.

Dumb question...the spring doesnt come with the tensioner?

Nope. Seems like it should, but .....

Mine came with the new tensioner?
Where did you order the tensioner from?
Alternate idea, it's literally just a spring that goes on a hook. Go buy a spring online that has the same amount of tension and just put that on.
Yeah, I thought of that.
Would you happen to know what the tension rate of the OEM spring is?
You know, these belts jump teeth every so often. Changing springs sounds like a great idea to me.

I don't know the original lbs but I know you generally measure by deflection. So you could always get one of the scales and attach it to the idler pully and pull on it until it's really tight. But my guess is it's around 70lbs or so.
it was pretty difficult for me to stretch in the past, so definitely more than 40lbs, I think 70 is good.

There is a site you can design your own spring at.
Also, keep in mind there are tons of springs that honda still uses.

Like that, idk if it would fit off the top of my head but that's also a good idea to try.
I would need to pull one off my parts car to measure and check to tell you exactly what spring to get. But you should have at least the remnants to measure the spring diameter and length and hooks anyway. So go design one!
Hey All,
I can not find this spring anywhere.
So I am having it manufactured.
Should be ready in 3 weeks.
I am doing a run of 50, and selling them for $27 each.
Robert S
You'd think a belt kit would come with that...
One I got was sealed power brand which is a name brand but even that didn't come with the spring.

Hello Robert S,
I am new to this forum. I came across your discussion regarding these springs. I am the original owner of an 87 Prelude. I know it's been a while since you posted this but do you have any more of these springs for sale?
Kurt
Yup!
