valve cover hose and the intake

What is the point of the valve cover hose that goes to the valve cover to the intake....I did a three step intake clean and I found alot of grit inside my throttle body. What if I put one of those small little cone filter things on the valve cover where it comes out so that it does not go back into my intake and clog my injecters....

thats a good idea. i dont know the purpose of that hose, but i know it gets the inside of my intake tubing greasy and oily. i think a good cleaning would be good for my TB, and intake manifold as well!

anyway the breather filter coming from the valve cover is a smart thing, just make sure and plug the hole in ur intake tube.

when i bought my intake it came with a hose, (which i currently have connected to the valve cover) and a plug, that was just a cap that fits over the port on the intake. if you wanted to be ghetto you could just use tape. but i think a generic 3/8? silicon plug/cap would do the job.

actually i dont know how critical it is to plug it. but you might as well suck as little unfiltered air as possible right?

I was told by Auto Zone that it would not do anyhting to the car to hurt it but I know it would not put all that carbon build up back into the throttle body and into the injecters...Some get abck to me on the if you think differant..i want to think is someone thinks that it might hurt the car...

You can buy it at any hardware store or wal-mart. It is a cold weld process. I use it on my cold air intake to join the two pipes
together instead of using the rubber couple to make one solid
    pipe. Stuff works great!!

It has to do with emissions. It takes all the blowby gasses and sends them back into the engine to get burnt.

It come in two tubes. Just mix in equal parts and apply to what
you want to mend or the hole you want to fill. It also comes in
two different types, quick dry which dry in 5 mins or regular.
I've always used the quick dry. Wal-mart seems to have the best
price. And.... no you don't need any special tools just something
    to apply it with.
If you have anymore question don't hesitate

    Intake System

I have an aftermarket short stack intake for '89 LX-i Accord, which is fuel injected. Anyways, the breather tube is causing problems when there is a lot of moisture in the air. The breather tube didnt fit and I connected it with with another tube that fits nicely over the top of it and connects well to the engine block. The water in the breather tube will cause the engine to hiccup and stall because not enough air gets into the engine, and it can stall. Any suggestions on how to fabricate a better system that doesnt fail in moist weather.
