    Arrow High idle help

i have a carb motor, it idle at 3000rpm i hook the gas petal back to stop it(it drop below 1000 rmp). is this a good way of stopping it or bad? My brother say it a bad way to stop it because it should stop the high rmp itself.
I thing the cable need oil.:pimp: What should i do?

Fast Idle and Auto choke to be exact.
This promotes faster starts in a wide range of temperatures.
Yes, this is normal in cold starts or when you press the gas pedal before starting .

It's normal for the carb to do that. It's the fast idle. And I wouldn't recomend pulling on the back of the pedal b/c it just might be enough force to snap the throttle cable.

I lift my gas pedal when i hit the gas
because the spring on the carb won't go all the way back to the beginning.
If it is broken then fix it. IF NOT LEAVE IT THE HELL ALONE

So is your throttle cable ok? Sounds to me like it's loose or something if you have to do that?
If you let the car warm up until the fast idle unloader kicks in does the rpms go down to about say 1100 rpm and when you gas it does it stay there or does it down to 800+/-50 rpm?
