    Re: new to the site

Oh gawd. You're right. My '09 truck has that crap in it. How do I get rid of it?

Speaking of coolant, I'm still running the Evans NPG lifetime coolant in my 3g. It's been there since 2010 and still seems to be working great. I haven't had any leaks (fingers crossed) and it still is the same clear color as when I put it in. It's amazingly difficult to dispose of old coolant around here and any kind of cooling system service always makes a ginormous mess, so the Evans makes a lot of sense for me. It's $30/gal and requires special purging of the cooling system before you fill, so don't use it until you're sure you have all the leaks worked out of your cooling system. I'd say it's a good choice for after a rebuild when the block is bone dry and you know it's going to be a long time before you'll need to dig into it again.

All that to say I have to look into replacing my Dex with NPG. I just have to see how much coolant it will take. My other trucks take like 8 gallons of coolant. Eek.

Just checked the capacity. It's only 6 gallons and change.
