    4X100 conversion

I have a really old trailer at home. My father had this trailer built in the early 80's. He gave it to me and I'm currently repainting/rebuilding it.

The axle was custom made with 1G civic hubs/drums. My father, who worked at Honda (and still does), thought it would be cost effective to use old Honda parts he could have basically for free. The problem now is that Honda stopped using 4X120 wheels and it ended up being more of a problem in the long run.

I hope I can convert the 4X120 to 4X100 and have a wide selection of wheels and tires for this older trailer.

I was wondering if you guys know what parts I can use for this conversion. The axle is really simple. All it is is a piece of pipe with 1G Civic rear spindle welded on it. Then, the drums are bolted to the spindle. That's it. There's no back plate, no shoes, nothing.

Could I just use a 1981 rear drum and call it a day? Can I re-use the bearings of do I need different ones?

So I've have not done this conversion yet, however from reading the sticky about the conversion I would think all you would need to do is use the Prelude brake rotor from the swap list. Your not worried about the brake caliper mount. You may be able to get that rotor from a local parts store along with the bearings and wheel studs and bolt it on.

    '82-85 (2nd) Accord, '79-86 (1st & 2nd) Prelude, '80-'83 (2nd) Civic rear drums should work, I suspect bearings hadn't changed though could be wrong.
Handbrake cable arrangements made things more complicated fitting some of those on to cars.

I realize it wouldn't be the best answer, but have you considered running adapters to a bolt pattern? Just to keep things easy.
