    Remove shifter rod from M/T

Going to eventually convert to a manual abd found an accord at the junkyard with a trans i will attempt to rebuild. Question, how do you disengage the shift rod from the transmission? I have disengaged it from the stick

There is a spring pin on the transmission that you need to punch out.

Got it. Pleasantly surprised by how small this thing is. I can pick this up with ease

Oh yeah, there's pin on these cars (The Civic does).

Too bad i went through the trouble of removing it only to find the internal speed sensor housing in the transmission is cracked/broken. Not sure if sonething like that can be fixed or not. Trans is still sitting in the trunk of the car in the junkyard

The speed sensor is where the speedo cable goes into and two lines from the steering rack goto. It unbolts separate. There very expensive new.

Yep. I know.. but where it fits inside of the transmission is cracked. The sensor itself is fine. I dont know if it would be any difference. Wish i coulda took a picture

I'm pretty sure that could be fixed at a machine shop, but you might not like the price.
