    tape holder console

Will a tape holder/console from a car with a auto fit on a car with a manual transmission? Will the shift boot screw on the auto console just like it does on the manual console? I checked and they do have different part numbers.

they are the same i think

the auto has that little rectangle shaped plate where the stick is, and the shift boot for a 5speed is the same shape were it connects to the console.

thats what I thought too, but they have different part numbers? Does anyone that did the auto/5sp swap know? I really need to know if the stock 5speed shift boot ring (held on w/ 4 screws under the console) will fit.

They are the same for sure. I screwed the boot and bracket from a 5 speed onto my auto console.

Yep they're the same. I think the reason for different part numbers is because one comes with a 5speed boot and the other with an auto thing.

same thing! i took mine off an automatic, and just swapped it over to my stick. its pretty much the same, just you dont have any dedicated bolt holes, you have to use a channel that is there to screw it on there. have fun...you should be able to install it in like 30 seconds!

Yeah, you're right NoSpeed. It works just fine. I put the tape holder on there and put a shift knob from an Acura. I also ripped off that square chrome shift knob thing that was so ugly. Looks nice now!
