    sway & anti-sway bars?

what is the differance, if any, between sway bars and anti-sway bars? Which would be better to put on an 89lxi?

Your car already has them, came from the factory.

You can purchase the Suspension Techniques swa bars, which offer a very slightly stiffer front bar and a little bigger rear bar, if you want. One thing that will come with those ST sway bars will be poly urathane bushings, which will allow the sway bars to respond quicker than the softer stock bushings will.

BTW, stiffer lowering springs will also reduce lean in the corners. And running the right struts will also improve how the car responds.

Theirs also a company that can bend you custom sway bars if you want something thicker than the ST bars, which aren't much different than stock.

Well, that's what I used to have, wrecked, 7/3/02.

The last time I checked their price was $180 per bar. You send them a factory bar (I'd just pull one off a junk yard car) and all the factory mounting hardware, including end links. They will make you a copy with poly bushing to the diameter you tell them to.

You don't want to go to wild with sway bar size. If you go to thick, you will hamper the suspensions ability to act independently, not a good thing. I'd go with 1 1/16" front and 7/8" in the rear. You could go stiffer still in the rear than that, but I would not do that till after trying the 7/8" size first.

They tend to be busy, so if you email them, a long weight time is normal.
