well i took my cd player out of the honda (as the honda's going) and i want to install it in my GM car. BUT i have an ACdelco CRAP radio. My question is
Are they're many different standards in H/u Sizes and standards?
what does DIN mean?

i don;t know what it stands for but i can tell you the sizes.
1 DIN is the ones that fit our honda.
1.5 DIN is for Chevy and Chrysler.
2 DIN is for the some japanice cars.
you can get a kit to go from 1.5 DIN to 1 DIN.
you can find this kits in Walmart, i think there are $10 or something like that.
i hope that helps
Alex.
yeah it does, thanks![]()
DIN is the standard size for head units. when buying one for your 3 gee make sure its DIN size
86 white hatch LXi with 5spd swap and full system.
from what i found its a European standars originally, wich probably explains why GM/chrysler isn't
It's a German standard size.

Many Japanese cars actually use JIN (guess what THAT is...) and the hole is just a teeny bit bigger than DIN, but the difference is so small that it's unnoticable.
