Oil Pump Gasket for Manual Trans Version ; 82 CVCC accord 1.8L EK1 1751cc

I have looked everywhere and cannot find this; I have ordered several times and always get the automatic version, which is different. I believe it is part number 15105-689-010

I have though about making one myself, but it being an oil pump gasket, the clearance is of huge importance - i would need the same thickness of gasket paper which I have not found. the stuff almost looks like it's just wax paper from the kitchen.

attached is a picture of the oil pump with the incorrect auto gasket on it, showing bad fitment. I would really appreciate any help in finding this part or suggestions on how to make it myself. thanks!

Just a question would a new or reman oil pump be available since this seems to be an internal gasket

Is it the sort of thing you could use RTV on? I know RTV is pretty good, but given what a mission critical part this is, it's not something you really want to experiment on. (Speaking as one who has done such experiments and lost.) You could always cut your own gasket from a kit too.

thanks for the ideas - RTV seemed like a bad idea to me as it would gunk up moving parts if it squished out into the pump cavity ; I wanted to cut my own but after searching many stores for the proper material I had no luck, this stuff is so thin it's like wax paper.

I ended up finding a pump on ebay for 20$ shipped, which you just can't beat; I didn't see if before because the seller only listed it as honda ek1, no year or model. I was debating paying 30 w/ shipping for another conversion gasket kit from rockauto from a different brand just because the picture had only 1 faintly visible oil pump gasket as opposed to the 2 in the auto trans, suggesting it was for a manual engine. for 20$ i am getting a new pump w/ new gasket and pickup screen that I can'tfind anywhere either.

I will update when I get it on the quality - seller seems to have many more and I'm sure people here who can't find the parts like me would want to order some.

I got my oil pump delivered - everything lines up and seems the same, BUT..... the pump is cast iron/steel, while the original honda one is aluminium.

More differences - The bolts holding the pump body together were also put together with lock washers, which was not the case on the original, which had flanged head bolts. the pickup screen has a different shape sheet of metal attached to it, and there isn't a rib on the intake side of the pump to help the flow stop swirling. also the intake port going to the rotor is smaller and a slightly different shape.

First 6 pictures are the new pump, last few pics are the original honda pump.

I am concerned with the different material expanding at a different rate when the engine warms up, but also I assume it should have been designed in such a way to accommodate that change if they chose to change material - not sure how much I should trust aftermarket part engineers. other differences seem strange, but I think since it was made for this application it should work fine, and the differences are design choices and not oversight.

My old pump has some scratches/wear marks on the pump rotors, and the threads on 1 bolt hole are damaged which I was going to repair. I was going to use the new pump, but now that I see it is quite different I'm not sure if I should just move the gasket over from the new to the old pump and use that, or just send the brand new one. any input would be highly appreciated. thanks!

Most domestic oil pumps are cast iron as well I would not sweat it.

Since its shaft driven off the head as long as it mounts ok I would run it.

I would not run 20w50 oil in cold weather, the gear in the head tends to shear off on really cold days.
