    Running Too Rich

Is there any way That my computer can get messed up and let the car still run? I unplug my Eacv and the engine light does not come on. but when i plug it back in the engine surges? Its runing very rich and is flouling my plugs. Can the computer be causing this? The coil is good, brand new wires, new spark plugs gaped at .045. Thanx for the help.

My car wont give me a code either when i unplug eacv, so unless youre getting a code from somthing else the computer should be ok. If its running rich replace your air filter and see if that helps. Somtimes if your temp sensors on the thermostat housing and the one in the radiator get screwy they can foul plugs or flood the engine when you try to restart it warm, what is happening to yours?

Car runs like shit. Uneven idle. I have a short ram intake on my car. Its brand new and i don't think its that. But i could try one of those sensors you told me. By the way the plugs get fouled very quick.

the car computer just takes his info from different sensors ! so if a sensor is bad , it will send wrong data to the computer which will cause the computer to deal with that using the wrong data ! following me ?

did this start right after the short ram was installed? If so what did you do with the hoses that connected to the stock airbox?

The thing is that my car has always had a ram intake. It didn't have the problem before. It happen after the computer got burned. But i don't have the details to what happen to it. Thats why i want to know if the car can run off an 86-87 computer. It happen to be that the Eacv and the O2 senors don't work or read? The 86-87 models don't have 2 O2 they hane only one, and they don't have an Eacv. The light won't come on when i pull the plug for these sensors. But it will come on if i pull the plug on any other sensor.

Thats what i think is your problem!! Someone told me that if you use an older comp in newer 3gen than it wont run right!!! Find the right computer for the car and see what happens!!! Computers can also just fuck up!!!!
