If you know how and have the tool do it yourself. If not then just pay the shop. They will probably charge less than 100 for labor. I usually do mine myself.

I'm about to do mine all by myself. I don't think it'll be that hard. The only important tool I think I'll need is a spring compressor.

Ya I ordred springs for my TL and they should be in soon, me and a friend are putting them in, so I'll save $100 labor. It ain't easy though so if you don't know what your doing, have a shop do it.

well dont point the spring compressor at your damn face!!
shop around here wanted to charge me $35 a spring so I just did it myself. After changing springs so many times, I can do it really quick now.

Mike I cant wait to see the Ack with the new springs. What type of setup are you goin wit or is it just the spings?

It's easy once you've done it a couple of times, it's actually quite simple even if it's your first time but rusted/seized/broken bolts will make your day.

Anyway if you ever need bushings for the suspension then I got some for sale

You dont need a spring compressor......

just unbolt the top strut and jack the car up.. then voila! the car acts like a compressor itself. I have done it sooo many times i cant count. I have used visegrips before.. hehe

    DANGEROUS.

you don't need a spring compressor technically, but i would definitly use one, at least on the front. it's simple enough to do if you have a clue as to what you're doing, and even if you don't you could do it with instructions in front of you. and yes, seized bolts will kill you, i know from experience.

you don't need a spring compressor to put in lowering springs, but you might need a friend to help you. if you don't want to buy/rent a spring compressor, put it against the curb to take out the stock springs. some might just shoot off once you take off the top nut, so be careful. and yes, rusted bolts, do make your day a bit longer than you like. if you scared of messing up, i would suggest taking it to a shop first and watch them throughout the whole process so you can do it yourself the next time.

when i did my springs, just regular springs, i ended up using the spring compressor on the front, and only once in the back because i found i could lean on it hard enough so that somebody else was able to get the bolt started on top. but i would really recommend it on the front because the springs are a lot stiffer.
