Question for you people with 2" or more lower

Well, since some of you may know already that I know nothing about lowering a car, there are plent out there who has to know.

Anyways, I have a question. Since I can't afford a real camber kit now, I'm just gonna get a kit from an 84-87 Prelude like some of you may have. The question is, what do I need to get? I mean, Do I have to swap the upper arms? Is that the idea? Please, if you have done what I'm about to do, give me instructions of how you did it. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks a lot.

Like I said their is a complete how to on the same web site that has the strut how do, in the how to section of the board. All I did was click on the strut link, then go to the home page, then to garage and bam

It's just that I thought, you have to have the prelude arms, that's why everytime that method of camber correction is mentioned, it's called "prelude arms".

If you would have replied to my pm saying you could not find the how to where I said it was I would have went the extra mile and found it for you then.

    http://quadmobile.virtualave.net/LudeArms.htm

"What you need: 4 heavy-duty washers, upper a-arms from 84-87 Prelude. Look for ones with good bushings or buy a new set. Don't worry about the ball joints, it's better to get a new set. Make sure you get both left and right (indicated by "L" or "R"). Keep the Accord arms too."

I think there are instructions in the How-To section. Basically you replace the prelude arm and ball joint and use the same long bolt that goes through the arm from the accord. You'll need around 3/8" of washers on each side since the prelude arms aren't quite as long.

Thanks, Jim. I didn't see that. All I saw was the instruction on how to lower the car. Sorry if I didn't reply to your pm. I thought I did. Now with the front taken care of, what's there to be done for the rear if any?

I just sent a pm to ACCORD EX asking him to create a post in the how to section. I've asked him to create a new thread,
How to install 84-87 Prelude arms for camber correction in the front.

Well I knew the how to was on the same web site as the strut how to. So I clicked on the strut how to. Then I backed out the word "struts" from the url address leaving http://quadmobile.virtualave.net then is was a simple matter of finding the prelude arm how to from the home page

Ok,....REAR CAMBER Here's the deal. If you take 4 members that have 2" drops or lower. 2 of them will tell you, you HAVE to have rear camber correction (eibach or ingall's kit ect). The other 2 will tell you that is absolutely NOT needed. Put them in a room together and they will arugue about it all day, (no really). So being a spectator in all that all I can say is to lower your car and get a alignment. If your rear camber is out more than you care for, well theirs you factual answer. Wouldn't hurt to budget for it to I guess. Now keep in mind my answer is based on reading answers over a long time.

What are you guys talking about? Accord EX already created it in the How-To section quite some time ago.

So you guys didn't believe me about the prelude arm how-to? I guess I'll just have to make sure I link it next time.

While you're getting your alignment, some shims between the upper arm and you chassis can help with the rear camber. It's not the best looking solution, but it is safe and really cheap.

What do you mean with that "some shims between the upper arm" part?

You remove the bolts that hold the upper arm to the car's frame and reinstall them with enough spacers (shims) between the arm and the car that the upper arm moves outward far enough to correct your camber. You may end up needing longer bolts, but since the car's weight is supported by the lower arm and the strut, changing how the upper arm is set up shouldn't cause much of a safety concern.
