A capacitor maintains a constant voltage going to your amp, puts less strain on your battery and alternator and sometimes is said to make your subs hit harder. :super: now you don't need a capacitor to make your system hit hard but if you don't want your lights to flicker and you want your electrical system to last longer I'd get one. The suggested size is 1/2 farad for every 500 watts that your system puts out so if you have a 1000-watt system use a 1-farad capacitor. If you chose to get one it should come with instructions so I won't go into how to install it for now hope this helps.

Fifty bucks?? I think that your idea of durable material and mine are quite different. My buddy got some 50 buck "Shakers" lol.. they pounded good for all of 10 minutes before both of the cones ripped.

But anyways, it's obvious you're on a low budget for stereo. So good luck with that, but don't try to make these things too perminate in your car. From the sounds of it they'll probably blow real real soon.
